The David Brown Speedback is a grand tourer produced by the British car manufacturer David Brown Automotive. It is the company's first model, which was presented in April 2014 at the "Top Marques" in Monaco. The sports car is built in Silverstone, England.
The base of the sports car is the Jaguar XKR built up to 2014 and its V8 engine. The AJ-V8 engine has 92.5 mm × 93 mm (3.64 in × 3.66 in) bore and stroke, 5000 cc, and has 375 kW (503 hp). The automatic transmission has six gears. The maximum speed is 250 km/h (155 mph). The car accelerates from zero to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.8 seconds.
The vehicle is similar to the Aston Martin DB5 and DB6. Unusual for such a vehicle is the large tailgate. The Speedback is available with either 2 or 2+2 seats. In the luggage compartment there is an additional folding bench, which can be folded out to the picnic. The carriage is 4.77 m (188 in) long, including mirrors, 2.09 m (82 in) wide and 1.32 m (52 in) high.
No more than 100 Speedback GTs will be built, priced at about £495,000.
At the 87th Geneva Motor Show in March 2017, the revised version of the Speedback GT was introduced.
